Dr. Joachim Claudet is a researcher at the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) in Paris, France. An ecologist, he specializes in MPAs, environmental impact assessment studies and coastal management. He also teaches international workshops on MPAs.
At the Blue Climate Summit: Joachim’s key Mission alignment is Ocean Protection. He is excited about a paradigm shift on the high seas - rather than protecting targeted areas, protect the entire ocean and work backwards so that conservation is the default in areas in where extraction is planned.
